VMLY&R's IdeaHack is a marathon-style open-innovation session that brings together inter-disciplinary experts from VMLY&R, industry partners, and university students to find new perspectives, ideas, innovative technology-based solutions for key business and social challenges.

IdeaHack: Empowering Girls in Stem is a 24-hour hackathon where students can form teams of five to seven participants who have a variety of skills to ideate new concepts for the 2018 Empowering Girls in Stem campaign. HOW DO I WIN?

At the end of this 24 hour hackathon, teams will deliver a 10-minute, fully-formed pitch presentation to a panel of judges illustrating a business, an app, a device, an educational curriculum, a multi-media experience, or any initiative that will empower young girls to pursue their passions in STEM.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Ideas will be judged on creativity and innovation of ideas, relevance of communication to the target audience(s), and the overall quality of presentation. We'll be looking for details on the proposed strategy, if the idea reflects the She Can STEM tone and voice and how the idea celebrates inclusion among all classes (age, race, religion, gender and disability).

WHAT YOUR FINAL PITCH SHOULD INCLUDE

  1.  What’s your idea?

  2.  Who’s your target audience?

  3.  How can you make it happen? i.e. Technology, strategy, platform, venue

  4.  How do you imagine your audience will engage, from start to finish, with your idea?

  5.  Do you have a prototype to showcase and share with us?
